A GDS (Global Distribution System) for buses is a single technology connection that distributes your seat inventory to multiple OTA platforms simultaneously. When a passenger books on any OTA, the seat is immediately marked as sold on all other channels, preventing double-booking. Seat sharing is a technology that allows a bus operator to sell the same physical seat to multiple passengers whose journeys do not overlap. For example, if your bus runs Chennai–Vellore–Bangalore, seat 12A can be sold to a passenger travelling from Chennai to Vellore, and to a different passenger travelling from Vellore to Bangalore. Both bookings are confirmed with no conflict, and the operator earns revenue from the same seat twice on the same trip.
